NW Photon Energy Works with Eden Housing to Enhance Affordable Housing Communities

Hayward, CA – April 26, 2017 -- NW Photon Energy (NWPE), a leading provider, designer and installer of turnkey commercial solar systems in the Pacific Northwest, today announced the installation of two high-performance solar systems for multi-family affordable housing apartment complexes owned and operated by non-profit Eden Housing of Hayward, CA.  The installations are part of four retrofits to Eden Housing properties Glen Berry, Glen Eden, Washington Creek and Corona Ranch apartments located in both Hayward and Petaluma.
The new solar systems are designed to help Eden Housing offset the cost of tenant common areas and to reduce monthly energy costs for tenants.  Eden Housing applied for and was awarded post-installation rebates for the new systems through the Multi-Family Solar Housing (MASH) Program.  This program provides business solutions to companies that can offset the cost of installing new solar systems on multi-family affordable housing in California.
The four solar arrays, ranging from 13kW-64kW, feature US based SolarWorld solar panels, Unirac roof mounting systems and SolarEdge inverters and optimizers.  Glen Berry and Washington Park apartments were recently completed and NWPE anticipates completion of Corona Ranch in April and Glen Eden in May of this year.
As part of Eden Housing’s ongoing preservation of affordable housing communities and energy conservation goals, the solar systems are aimed at improving the quality of their housing developments, decreasing overall energy usage and lowering costs for tenants.  Eden Hosing continues to identify additional solar project opportunities in its portfolio.
